I wanted to see what actually comes up when you search for a devtools marketing agency on Reddit, so I went through the Reddit discussions around DevTools, developer marketing, and technical content.
Rather than looking at another generic list of agencies pulled from their own websites, the focus was on which names people were actually bringing up, how often they appeared, and what they were being mentioned for.
Here’s what I found.
DevTools Marketing Agencies Mentioned on Reddit
| Agency | Mentions | What they were mentioned for | Reddit threads |
| Draft.dev | 3 | Technical content and developer-focused marketing | B2BForHire · B2BSaaS |
| Infrasity | 2 | Developer-first marketing | B2BSaaS |
| Hackmamba | 2 | Developer-first marketing | B2BSaaS |
| Stateshift | 2 | Technical content, community and go-to-market strategy | B2BSaaS |
| DevMarkLab | 1 | SEO, content, Reddit and social for DevTools | B2BForHire |
| QCGrowth | 1 | Go-to-market support for early-stage startups | B2BSaaS |
Mention count refers to the number of times an agency was named across the Reddit discussions I reviewed. It is not a ranking or a count of independent recommendations.
Draft.dev came up the most
Draft.dev was the name I saw most often, with three mentions across two discussions.
In one thread, someone looking specifically for technical content for developer-focused companies recommended Draft.dev. In another, the agency was mentioned alongside Hackmamba and Infrasity as a developer-first option. The founder of Draft.dev also joined that discussion to explain that they generally work with more established companies and aren’t a great fit for pre-launch stealth startups.
I actually thought that last part was useful. A good agency recommendation isn’t just about saying who to hire. Knowing who an agency isn’t a good fit for matters too.
Infrasity, Hackmamba and Stateshift
Infrasity and Hackmamba were both mentioned in the context of developer-first marketing, while Stateshift positioned itself around technical content, community and go-to-market work.
What I found interesting is that the discussion wasn’t really treating “developer marketing” as one thing. There was a clear distinction between simply producing content and actually understanding how technical products are adopted.
DevMarkLab
DevMarkLab also came up in the research, in a thread where a stealth DevTools startup was specifically looking for agencies with product-led content experience.
The agency’s experience spans SEO, technical content and no-code automation, with recent work for products such as Templated, HypeProxies and ChartDB.
QCGrowth
QCGrowth was recommended in the same B2BSaaS discussion as an option for an early-stage startup looking for go-to-market help.
The broader point made in that conversation was more interesting than the name itself: early-stage DevTools companies shouldn’t assume that outsourcing growth means outsourcing the strategy too. Someone internally still needs to understand the product, the buyer, and where the company is going.
What Reddit Seems to Want From a DevTools Marketing Agency
After going through the threads, this was probably the more useful part of the exercise.
People weren’t asking for generic SaaS marketing. They were talking about technical content, product documentation, onboarding, SDK and API examples, GitHub, developer communities, and content built around actual use cases.
One thread specifically called out the importance of code-backed content and understanding technical workflows such as Kubernetes, CI/CD, and IAM. Another discussion focused on how developer marketing is increasingly tied to the product itself, from documentation and SDKs to the GitHub and content ecosystem around it.
That matches what I’ve seen working in DevTools marketing. Developers are very quick to spot content that was written by someone who doesn’t really understand the product.
You can get the terminology right and still get the product wrong.

Looking Beyond Reddit
Reddit gives you a useful snapshot of what people are talking about, but it doesn’t tell you everything you need to know before choosing a DevTools marketing agency.
I also put together a broader comparison of developer marketing agencies for DevTools, including what they actually focus on and what to look for before hiring one.
The right fit depends on what you’re trying to solve. For one company, that might be technical content and SEO. For another, it could be community, distribution, documentation or a wider go-to-market problem. The important part is finding an agency that understands the product and the people you’re trying to reach.
